Alkira Bio operates an AI-powered computational chemistry platform that allows medicinal chemists and drug discovery researchers to upload compound structures and SMILES notation for multi-axis scoring on binding affinity, toxicity risk, and synthesizability. This policy explains how the Company handles personal information collected in connection with the platform and our website at alkirabio.com.

2. Personal Information We Collect

The Company collects the following categories of personal information:

  • Account and contact information you provide when registering: name, email address, company or institution name, and payment details processed by our payment provider.
  • Platform submission data: compound structures, SMILES strings, and CSV files you upload for scoring. These files are processed solely to generate ranked shortlists and are not used to train our models without your explicit written consent.
  • Usage and technical information collected automatically: session identifiers, IP address, browser type, pages visited, scoring run timestamps, and feature interaction logs.
  • Communications: the content of any emails, support requests, or form submissions you send to us.

Compound structures and SMILES data submitted to the scoring engine are treated as confidential research material. The Company does not inspect, share, or publish submitted compound data beyond what is necessary to return scored results to you.

3. Purposes (APP 3, 6)

The Company collects and uses personal information only for purposes reasonably necessary for the Service, including:

  • Providing and operating the compound ranking platform, including running binding affinity, toxicity, and synthesizability scoring models on uploaded structures;
  • Managing your account, processing subscription payments, and communicating service updates;
  • Improving platform performance and scoring model accuracy using anonymised, aggregated usage statistics;
  • Responding to support requests and technical inquiries;
  • Complying with our legal obligations under Australian law.

4. Disclosure (APP 6, 8)

We disclose personal information to processors acting on our behalf -- for example, cloud infrastructure providers hosting the scoring engine, payment processors, and analytics providers -- solely to the extent required to provide the Service. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Where personal information is disclosed overseas (for example, to cloud service providers operating infrastructure outside Australia), the Company takes reasonable steps to ensure recipients comply with the APPs or are subject to substantially similar protections, consistent with APP 8.

We may disclose information to authorities where required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company or others.

5. Your APP Rights

  • APP 12 -- Right to access your personal information;
  • APP 13 -- Right to request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • APP 7 -- Right to opt out of direct marketing;
  • APP 2 -- Right to deal with us anonymously where lawful and practicable.

6. Complaints

If you believe the Company has not complied with the APPs, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can attempt to resolve your concern. If the matter remains unresolved, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner ("OAIC") at oaic.gov.au.

7. Notifiable Data Breaches

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose information is involved, the Company will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
